Fall Brush and Limb Pick Up begins October 3
As a friendly reminder, Fall Brush and Limb Pick Up begins on Monday, October 3. Although the work is expected to take the entire week, to guarantee pick up, your brush must be placed curbside by 7:00 am, Monday, October 3, 2022. This includes limbs that are no longer than 10 feet in length, and/or no wider than 18 inches in diameter. For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 660.627.1291.
Make sure you’re registered to vote this November
You still have until October 12, 2022, to register for the November General Election. Check your status or register online at GoVoteMissouri.com.
A change in Missouri law now requires a photo ID to vote. Approved forms of ID include:
A nonexpired Missouri driver or non-driver license;
A nonexpired military ID, including a veteran’s ID card;
A nonexpired United States passport; or
Another photo ID issued by the United States or the state of Missouri which is either not expired or expired after the date of the most recent general election.

Downtown Water Tower taken down
You’ve likely noticed the removal of the Downtown Water Tower. The demolition project was completed in early September. The tower had stood in Kirksville since 1954. Check out this time lapse video of the demolition.
Free Halloween Flashlight EGGstravaganza
Join the Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department on Saturday, October 22, 2022, for the 6th annual Free Halloween Flashlight EGGstravaganza!
There will be 10,000 Halloween eggs stuffed with candy and toys scattered across the ballfields at the North Park Complex. The egg hunt starts promptly at 7:00 pm. All you need is a flashlight and a bag.
To allow for a more enjoyable event, children ages 5 and under will hunt eggs on the Yellow Field, ages 6 through 8 on the Orange Field, and children ages 9 to 12 on the Green Field. This fun event is free.

Halloween Town is back
Join the Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department, #For660 , and over a hundred community partners for the fourth annual Halloween Town event.
Halloween Town is a safe, fun, and interactive trick-or-treat experience all in one location. Nearly 150 businesses, organizations, and churches have partnered to make this incredible event possible! Join us October 31 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm in front of Kirksville High School and William Matthew Middle School. This event is free for everyone!

Sign up for Adopt-A-Child
The annual Adopt-a-Child Christmas Program is designed to provide a special Christmas gift for more than 300 children in Adair County, 0 to 16 years of age, who otherwise might not receive a gift. Sign up for Adopt-A-Child begins on October 3, 2022, and runs through December 2, 2022. You can do so at the Salvation Army, 1005 W. Gardner St., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, by calling 660.665.7885, or via Facebook Messenger at facebook.com/TSAkirksville! Only the child’s legal guardian may apply. Annual drive through flu clinic
It’s always important to get your annual flu shot. The 2022 Drive Through Flu Clinic has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at the NEMO Fairgrounds. The Drive Through Flu Clinic is a quick and easy way to get your flu shot for the 2022-2023 influenza season to protect yourself, your loved ones, and the community. The Drive Through Flu Clinic is for people ages three years and older. The clinic — sponsored by the Adair County Health Department — is provided at no cost to Adair County residents. However, please bring your Medicare and Medicaid cards, if applicable. Short or loose-fitting sleeves are recommended. No registration is required. Sip Downtown Oktoberfest. Saturday, October 1, 5 pm to 11 pm @ 122 W. Harrison St.
Sip’s annual Oktoberfest returns on October 1. It is a 21+ event with food, drinks, live music and more.
Truman State Homecoming. Saturday, October 8.
The parade begins downtown at 9:00 am. Then head over to Stokes Stadium to watch the Bulldogs play Missouri S&T, with kickoff set for 2:00 pm.
“All the World’s A Stage, or Life’s Crazy Moments Onstage and Off.” October 12, 13, 14 and 15 @ Curtain Call Theatre Company.

Kirksville Parks and Recreation is partnering with NEMO Country Dance Club, and the Kirksville Loyal order of Moose to bring you the 2022 Country Fall Dance. There will be live music. The dance is just $5 per person, and all proceeds will be donated to NEMO Connect.
