Kirksville Connection for August 2023
Hannibal Regional seeks input with survey
The Hannibal Regional Healthcare System and Complete Family Medicine have created a new survey designed to gather community input on specialty healthcare services in Kirksville. The purpose of the survey is to identify where needs and gaps might be when it comes to specialty healthcare in the City. Examples of specialty care would include cardiology, urology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, and many more. To take the survey, scan the QR code or head to www.surveymonkey.com/r/LRSXXYN. The survey will only take a few minutes to complete, with August 12, 2023, being the deadline to complete it.

City of Kirksville website gets update
KirksvilleCity.com received an update and an all new look. We hope you’ll find it easier to use than the previous incarnation.
There are still a few hiccups going on that the City is trying to work through. Google isn’t playing nice so far and is showing old, inactive pages if you search for a specific department or page. So, if you're someone who typically Googles "Kirksville utility payment" or something similar to pay your utility bill, the first link is broken.
In the meantime, go to KirksvilleCity.com and there are several options that will take you to utility payment. You can also go directly to the payment site: https://kirksville.merchanttransact.com/Login.
If you're finding any other issues with the website, please email pubinfo@kirksvillecity.com.
New Residential Street Tree Program launched
The City of Kirksville is offering a new program to help residents plant trees in the right-of-way adjacent to their property. This program reduces costs for residents, beautifies Kirksville and boosts property values.
Trees are offered at a discounted rate to residents ($100). Parks and Recreation staff will plant the tree, with it then becoming the homeowner's responsibility to take care of from there. This program was designed after the Emerald Ash Borer killed many ash trees in the City. Because of that, priority will be given to properties where ash trees were removed. September 1, 2023, is the deadline to apply for the first planting.
For more info or to fill out an application, visit www.kirksvillecity.com/p/tree-program.

Kirksville Labyrinth Center gets celebrated
The Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department was excited to celebrate the Kirksville Labyrinth Center in late July. The labyrinth is a cool partnership between many community partners who donated or worked to make it happen. As part of an Eagle Scout project, Jacob Thompson constructed a gazebo at the site this summer.
Labyrinths serve as walking meditation tools that have existed for hundreds of years. It offers a chance to relax and clear your thoughts.
The Parks and Recreation Department will, as part of a grant award, add parking spaces to the site. Additional trees will also be planted. Stop by and check out the labyrinth, located on Decker Road above Spur Pond.
